POSITION:                                           EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

SUPERVISIOR:                                     Taykwa Tagamou Nation Chief & Council as represented by the

           Councilor with the Administration/Education Portfolio


The Executive Director is responsible for the overall administration of the Taykwa Tagamou Nation; daily operational activities and carrying out the directives of the Chief and Council.


  • University or College diploma in Business Administration
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Senior Management capacity
  • Superior ability to handle conflict and demonstrate sound judgment and integrity
  • Excellent communication skills, written and oral.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office 2010 programs
  • Must provide a clear criminal reference check form current dated (within three months)
  • Possess a valid drivers’ license
  • Will be subject to undergo a drug and/or alcohol test prior to hire



  • Knowledge of leadership and management principles as they relate to First Nations
  • Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to First Nation organizations including: employment standards, human rights, occupational health and safety, CPP, EI, etc…
  • Knowledge of First Nation funding and reporting requirements
  • Knowledge of current community challenges and opportunities relating to the mission of the organization
  • Knowledge of human resources management
  • Knowledge of financial management
  • Knowledge of project management
